Department of Chemical Engineering:
The Department of Chemical
Engineering at BITS Pilani, Pilani campus, established in 1964,
offers a unique blend of rigorous academics, cutting edge research,
and strong industry connections. The expertise of the young and
experienced dynamic faculty members, hand-picked from renowned and
prime institutes, span the whole spectrum of the multidisciplinary
nature of Chemical Engineering and aligned subjects. With degree
programs ranging from B.E. to M.E. (including specializations in
Petroleum Engineering) and Ph.D. options, the department equips
students with a deep understanding of core principles and the
ability to solve complex, real-world problems. Our aim is to utilize
the laboratories and research infrastructures that enable an
innovative and encouraging environment to foster a sense of
sustainability in students. Strong ties with leading companies
provide students with valuable internships, research opportunities,
and career prospects. The Chemical Engineering Department has been
ranked in the top 301-350 by QS World University Subject Rankings
2024 and in the top 14 in India while striving to excel in
teaching/learning, innovative research, and industry engagement and
to disseminate the same to become a world leader in chemical
